     Training > NIKO

NIKO is a Greek word pronounced “Nee-ko”.

It means to “tame, conquer, overcome, triumph and have victory”.

NIKO is an outdoor wilderness experience designed to challenge young people physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally, bringing them into a deeper relationship with God while developing leadership potential.

A NIKO lets you learn in the classroom of life by doing instead of only listening. This hands-on experience teaches you to grow in interdependency. The lessons experienced during the NIKO will help you understand more about yourself and the gifts God has given you. You will begin to learn what motivates you and more about your unique leadership style. A high priority is placed on teamwork, perseverance and safety. You will be challenged to use your initiative, creativity, compassion, responsibility, and confidence through serving others.

The core teachings during the time ofthe NIKO include surrender, servant-hood, leadership, and teamwork. The participant might also be challenged in risk-taking, responsibility, integrity, identity, creativity, and conflict resolution.

A NIKO will challenge you to discover your mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional strengths and weaknesses. Your relationship with God and others will be tested and/or proven through this experience and its physical challenges. You will learn to confront issues of leadership and personal growth. You will be required to face and overcome many obstacles that will help you when you encounter future life decisions.
