Jeff Fountain was director for YWAM Europe from 1990-2010, starting when communism was collapsing. Since the early '90's, he has networked extensively with leaders in the body of Christ across Europe, promoting partnerships towards the re-evangelisation of the 'prodigal continent'. The changes still happening across Europe, Jeff believes, offer both major challenges and opportunities for Christians to help shape Europe's future.

Originally from New Zealand, Jeff was a journalist on the New Zealand Herald, and also staff worker for IFES in the universities. Married to a Dutchwoman, Romkje, he has become a naturalised Dutchman, having lived in Holland for over 35 years. He and his Romkje have three adult sons (two married) and a foster daughter. They live in Heerde, in the centre of Holland, where they lead a multi-ministry centre, Centrum's Heerenhof, serving local churches in the region.

Jeff now directs the Schuman Centre for European Studies, associated with the University of the Nations, and which aims to promote biblical perspectives on Europe’s past, present and future. The centre initiates courses and events, thinks tanks, projects and resource development, including summer and evening schools of European studies.

Jeff chairs the Round Table of Hope for Europe, a broad umbrella of networks and partnerships promoting Christian hope in European life and society. He was congress manager of HOPE21 and director of HOPE.II, pan-Eurpepan congresses held in Budapest in 2002 and 2011 with participants from 38 European countries. He writes a weekly email column, Weekly Word, and edits HOPE magazine. He is author of several titles, including, 'Living as people of hope'  and 'Deeply rooted'.

Evening plenary sessions with Jeff will be translated into French for Montrealers.
